Alumni Share Their Stories in the EarthCorps Yearbook
The EarthCorps Yearbook is collecting stories from our vast network of alumni, community partners, and supporters.
Today we are sharing a few entries from our incredible alumni. Gather round the campfire, because it’s time for some stories!

What is a favorite memory from being at EarthCorps?
Exploring the outdoors of the PNW, being a part of a team, exploring my interests, and challenging myself.
What did you learn at EarthCorps?
I learned the native and invasive flora of Washington State, how to do plant surveys, and that when 5 individuals get together, they can be capable of planting 1000+ baby trees in less than a week!
What are you doing now?
I am working as a Naturalist for City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, where I get to study the land and interpret that to people, rove trails while helping and welcoming people, and encourage responsible recreation and safety outdoors everyday.

Why do you care about the EarthCorps mission?
Because it can bring together the best people from ALL around the world.
What is a favorite memory from being at EarthCorps?
There was a time we were building a observation wall to watch salmon. It was one of the most intense projects I’ve done. When the project ended and kids started to use it, all the hard work became happiness for our team.

What is a favorite memory from being at EarthCorps?
Working with so many unique and kind people from around the world who joined together for a common purpose: to care for our environment and grow community.
What did you learn at EarthCorps?
I learned so much about different environmental organizations, botany, restoration, and land management. I also was challenged physically and mentally at times and learned how to persevere and came out stronger.
What are you doing now?
I am working to develop a Maritime-based Montessori Middle School.
The Yearbook is open to everyone in the EarthCorps community. We’d love for you to share your story with us!
